HOUTRUST Saxophone project

Raw, intense yet refined. That is the sound of Ensemble Klang’s brand-new Houtrust Saxophone Project.
The Houtrust Saxophone Project focuses on the distinctive sound and repertoire that has developed around the saxophone in and around The Hague. A sound that draws on influences from jazz and improvisation as well as classical and contemporary music.

At the heart of the project are the two saxophonists from Ensemble Klang, Michiel van Dijk and Daan van Koppen, joined by the versatile and fantastic reed talents of Jessie Brevé and Nuno Silva.

HOUTRUST presents new works alongside unfairly neglected classics. Here we pair Steve Martland and Guus Janssen with the next generation of composers, David Richter and Hesce Mourits. Expect performances with intent and passion, imbued with a profound life force.
