Lera Auerbach Festival by Dag in de Branding

At Festival Dag in de Branding we, expanded to Ensemble Klang XL size, present two important works by composer-poets who embrace the beautiful intricacies and knotty gardens of language and word association.

The potential dialogue that language can initiate with both musical material, structure and listener are explored in Rozalie Hirs’ work for ensemble, electronics, video and voice, Dreams of airs. While in Lera Auerbach’s Arcanum, a sonata for viola and piano without any word-setting, a musical journey is initiated at a point that language can’t quite reach.

For these performances we are able to add some amazing people to our ensemble. On Dreams of Airs Ensemble Klang XL will consist of:
