Night Voyager (Ela Orleans) world premiere

This November, Ela Orleans launches Night Voyager into bold new territory. After debuting an early version at our Musical Utopias festival in 2024, she has reimagined the work — now joined by Ensemble Klang for an electrifying live experience. The result: an entirely new creation, premiering 16 November at November Music in Den Bosch.

Rooted in the awe of the 1969 moon landing, Night Voyager weaves live NASA archive footage with the haunting reflections of Edward Young’s Night Thoughts (1740), a monumental meditation on mortality once hailed as “the grandest and richest poetry that human genius has ever produced.”

Orleans’s score, shimmering with synthesizer, theremin, violin and more, stretches across genres with her signature cinematic flair.
