OCCAM DELTA XXIII (Éliane Radigue & Carol Robinson)

Following the passing of Élliane Radigue, we have joined forces with Rewire to pay tribute to her by opening the Friday programme of the festival with a performance of OCCAM DELTA XXIII by Éliane Radigue & Carol Robinson.

We collaborated intensively in the recent years on music cosigned by Radigue and Carol Robinson. Two works, OCCAM HEXA V (2021) and OCCAM DELTA XXIII (2025), were made for and with the ensemble: slowly transforming sound sculptures, abstract but breathtakingly beautiful.
Although Radigue established her reputation as an electronics pioneer in the 1970s, she mainly composed acoustic works since 2005, creating cycles based on intimate collaboration with performers.

There are no scores. The entire process used by Radigue and Robinson is passed on orally, centring on time, attention, and sensitivity. OCCAM DELTA XXIII is inspired by the North Sea coast near The Hague, and is performed by a trio from Ensemble Klang: Daan van Koppen, saxophone; Anton van Houten, trombone; and Joey Marijs, percussion.
