Full Moon is the latest album of works by legendary Dutch composer and musician Maarten Altena. For more than six decades Altena has worked at the vanguard of composed contemporary music, jazz, and improvisation. Featuring the asymmetric rhythms and jazz-tinged lyricism of Slam, Pluck & Blow, the vivid Flashback, and the poetic Full Moon with vocals by Michaela Riener, this collection is a portrait of Altena’s recent artistic evolution in a set of works all written especially for Ensemble Klang.

Complete with video collaborations and a context-rich essay by Ed McKeon, Full Moon is a celebration of Altena’s inextinguishable creative curiosity.
