The World Minimal Music Festival revolves around, you’ve guessed it, minimal music. Five days of hypnotic rhythms and trance-inducing melodies by the likes of La Monte Young, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Philip Glass and Louis Andriessen.
Ensemble Klang performed two pieces for the first time that we think are massively important to hear: Coming together by Frederic Rzewski on Thursday 6th of April and Femenine by Julius Eastman on Saturday the 8th. The stage was shared with Nieuw Amsterdams Peil, Lavinia Meijer and Mark Ernestus ‘Ndagga Rhythm Force.
